‘Cohort One’ Workshop by ABI-CIFE and Bhoomiputra Foundation on 30-31 May 2024

The Agri Business Incubation Centre (ABI) at ICAR-CIFE, Mumbai, in collaboration with the Bhoomiputra Foundation, is thrilled to announce ‘Cohort One,’ a two-day workshop dedicated to fishery startups, students, and fisherfolk. Scheduled for May 30-31, 2024, at the CIFE campus, this event aims to support and promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the fishery sector. With Fishery News as the digital partner and Maharashtra Times as the media partner, the workshop promises to be a pivotal event for the fishery community.
The workshop will commence with a welcome and theme introduction, followed by remarks from key figures in the industry. Dr. S. P. Shukla, Principal Scientist & ABI-ITMU In-charge, will set the stage, followed by a keynote from Guest of Honour, Mr. Shantanu Bhadkamkar, Managing Director of ATC Group. Dr. N. P. Sahu, Joint Director at ICAR-CIFE, and Dr. Ravishankar C. N., Director & Vice Chancellor of ICAR-CIFE, will also provide insightful remarks. The session will conclude with a vote of thanks from Mr. Vikas Motiram Koli, President of the Bhoomiputra Foundation.
The inaugural session will feature industry experts sharing their insights. Shri Atul Sathe from MPEDA’s Regional Office in Mumbai will discuss seafood export potential and opportunities for startups. Mr. Tejomal Ghadge, District Resource Person under PMFME, will elaborate on government schemes and resources available for entrepreneurs. Shri T. P. Manoj, General Manager of OFDD at NABARD, Mumbai, will highlight NABARD’s initiatives to promote startups and entrepreneurship.
On the second day, Dr. Amol Bhalerao from ICAR-IVRI, Pune, will speak on communication and entrepreneurship in aquaculture. Mr. Parag Jain from E-MSME will cover funding opportunities for startups. Ms. Prakruti Mukul from 100X.VC will discuss funding opportunities for budding entrepreneurs, followed by insights from Mr. Abhishek Katre, a renowned Chartered Accountant and financial expert, and Mr. John Gill, an investor and expert in financial modeling.
Participants will be grouped post-cohort to further nurture their initiatives, culminating in a Round Table Conference (RTC) to discuss key takeaways and future steps.
This initiative marks a significant step in enhancing the entrepreneurial landscape of the fishery sector, offering invaluable knowledge and networking opportunities for all attendees.
