by Fishery News

Denmark has expressed its interest in forming partnerships with Goa in sectors such as energy-efficient technology, dairy farming, fisheries, water treatment and supply, and climate-change mitigation measures.

The Scandinavian country is also set to make a “significant investment” in Goa, with formal details to be announced soon. Ambassador of Denmark, Freddy Svane, held discussions with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, key cabinet ministers, and Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar during his visit to Goa.

The collaboration aims to leverage Denmark’s expertise and technology in areas where Goa has potential, such as the dairy sector, to create employment opportunities. Svane highlighted the success of his visit and expressed the intention to work closely on water treatment, deep-sea fishing, and aquaculture.

The investment is expected to be substantial, emphasizing a focus on execution rather than specific monetary figures. Svane also acknowledged Goa’s significance as a top destination for Danish tourists, expressing optimism about reviving tourism in the region post-COVID-19.
