Undi, West Godavari: The 49th edition of the India International Aquaculture Expo (IIAE) 2024 commenced on Friday at Undi, with MLA K. Raghurama Krishna Raju and District Collector Ch. Nagarani leading the inaugural ceremony. The two-day event, held in the heart of West Godavari district, attracted key stakeholders from the aquaculture industry, including farmers, exporters, and technology experts.
In his address, Mr. Krishna Raju urged the progressive aqua farmers to seize the opportunity to explore cutting-edge technologies showcased at the expo. He highlighted advancements in cultivation, harvesting, and post-harvesting techniques, stressing their potential to enhance productivity and profitability in the aquaculture sector.
The expo saw a strong turnout, with aqua farmers, exporters, and various industry participants engaging with exhibitors to learn about emerging innovations, regulatory developments, and industry challenges. The event also featured discussions on new policies affecting the sector.
Among the notable speakers were former MP B. Masthan Rao, A.P. Aqua Dealers Association president Ch. Krishnam Raju, and A.P. Fish Farmers Association President N. Venkatarama Raju. They addressed the pressing concerns facing the aquaculture industry and called for collective efforts to resolve them.
