About the Workshop
The five-day National Training Workshop on Aquatic Ecosystem Assessment aims to equip young professionals with the necessary skills to protect and conserve critical aquatic ecosystems in India. The workshop will focus on:
- Designing Field Studies: Participants will learn how to plan and conduct field studies using a combination of aerial surveys (drone surveys), remote sensing, and in situ measurements on hired vessels, following internationally accepted protocols.
- Hands-on Training: The workshop will include practical sessions on sample analysis and data interpretation using both conventional and modern techniques such as Primer Software, GIS, ecosystem models, and DNA bar-coding tools.

- Spatial Planning
- Hydrochemistry
- Plastic Pollution
- Physical-Chemical-Biological Coupling
- Productivity Assessments (including trophic status)
- Fish Eggs and Larvae
- Taxonomy and Community Structure of phytoplankton, zooplankton, benthos, molluscs, and fish

Key Information
- Intake Capacity: 50 participants
- Target Group: University/college teachers and research scholars. Participants are required to bring their own laptops.
- Accommodation: Free shared accommodation including breakfast and lunch.
