WaveMakers is a multidisciplinary, one-week hybrid training program designed to equip participants with skills in GIS, ecological data collection, boat navigation, and open science communication. This initiative emphasizes advocacy and community engagement in estuarine and coastal environments.

Course Highlights:

  • Pre-Field Preparation (Online): 2 days of foundational training.
  • Fieldwork in Indian Sundarbans: 1 night and 2 days of immersive, hands-on learning.
  • Post-Field Sessions (Online): 3 days focused on data analysis and management.

Topics Covered:

  • Fundamentals of Estuarine Ecology (with practical exercises).
  • Job-Oriented GIS and Remote Sensing techniques.
  • Open Science Communication and Youth Advocacy.
  • Mangrove Restoration (on-field session).

  • B.Sc./M.Sc. students with a science background.
  • Young professionals and EIA practitioners.
  • High school educators and environmental enthusiasts.
