Tamil Nadu’s Governor-Chancellor R.N. Ravi appointed N. Felix as the new Vice-Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University in Nagapattinam. The appointment, effective immediately, grants Mr. Felix a three-year term in this role.
Formerly serving as the Registrar and acting Vice-Chancellor of the university, N. Felix brings an extensive 32-year academic background to his new position. His career includes over 15 years as a professor, showcasing his expertise in aquaculture and fish nutrition.
With a wealth of experience in university administration, Felix has held various key roles, including Director of Incubation and Vocational Training in Aquaculture at Muttukadu and Chief Executive Officer of Fisheries Institute of Technology and Training in Chennai.
N. Felix has made significant contributions to the field, authoring books and publishing research papers. His achievements include being honored with the Best Scientist Award in 2023 by the Society of Fisheries and Life Sciences in Karnataka, as well as receiving the ICAR-NAIP International Training Fellowship in 2010.
Succeeding G Sugumar, N. Felix previously served as the acting Vice-Chancellor of the same university after Sugumar’s tenure concluded last September. Notably, Felix has led 30 aquaculture projects, both as the Principal and Co-Investigator, collaborating on six initiatives with industry partners. His dedication to education is evident through mentoring 45 postgraduate students in their academic pursuits.
