The Whelan Lab at Auburn University, in collaboration with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Southeast Conservation Genetics Lab (SECGL), is currently accepting applications for Graduate Research Assistantship positions (MSc and PhD). We are offering at least one MSc and one PhD position with start dates available in January or August 2024.
RESEARCH AREAS
Potential research projects include:
- Conservation Genetics and Molecular Ecology: Focus on freshwater mollusks.
- Phylogenetics and Systematics: Study of freshwater gastropods.
- Environmental DNA (eDNA): Assay design and applied distributional studies.
Students interested in eDNA research are especially encouraged to apply. Research will involve work in museum, lab, and field environments.
