KERALA UNIVERSITY OF FISHERIES AND OCEAN STUDIES (KUFOS)
A walk-in interview will be held at KUFOS Headquarters, Administration Block, Panangad P.O. Madavana, Ernakulam, on 04.07.2024 (Reporting time: 10:00 AM) for the selection and empanelment of Guest Faculties under the Faculty of Fisheries Science in the Department of Fisheries Extension Economics & Statistics. Details regarding qualifications and remuneration are as follows:
Name of the Post
Empanelled Guest Faculty
- Responsibilities include attending to academic and examination duties, and other duties as directed by the Dean or the University. Full day duty may be required during exigencies.
Number of Vacancies
- Deployment of empanelled guest faculty shall be based on the requirement.
Remuneration
- With NET/PhD: Rs. 1500/- per hour for theory and Rs. 750/- per hour for practical (subject to a maximum of Rs. 3000/- per day and Rs. 50,000/- per month).
- Without NET/PhD: Rs. 1000/- per hour for theory and Rs. 500/- per hour for practical (subject to a maximum of Rs. 2000/- per day and Rs. 32,000/- per month).
Note: No additional honorarium shall be claimed for attending additional duties entrusted by the Dean of Faculty or by the University.
Qualifications
- Master of Fisheries Science (MFSc) in Fisheries Extension/Fisheries Economics/Fisheries Business Management/MBA Agri-Business Management/MFSc in any discipline with research experience in Fisheries Statistics.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries Science approved by ICAR.
- ICAR/UGC/CSIR NET (mandatory).
- PhD (mandatory).
Note: Candidates with the prescribed qualifications but without NET/PhD can also apply for the post with remuneration as described above.
Desirable Qualifications
- Teaching experience and research publications in Scopus indexed journals, UGC CARE lists/patents.

General Conditions
- Interested candidates may report at 10:00 AM at KUFOS Headquarters, Panangad, and submit the application in the prescribed format (attached below) along with copies of certificates to prove essential educational qualifications, age, caste, experience, etc.
- Eligible candidates may attend the interview at 2:00 PM with a biodata, original certificates, and one set of photocopies of the certificates to prove qualification, age, experience, etc.
- The clearing of NET/SLET/SET shall not be required for candidates in such disciplines for which these examinations have not been conducted. In case of a shortage of candidates with NET, those without NET shall be considered as per the norms stipulated by the university authorities.
- Guidelines issued by UGC from time to time shall be applicable.
- A relaxation of 5% marks shall be allowed at both the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy Layer)/Differently abled categories.
- A relaxation of 5% marks shall be provided (from 55% to 50% of the marks) to Ph.D. degree holders who obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19 September 1991.
- The University reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates to attend the interview based on qualifications and suitability.
- Only qualifications acquired as of the date of the interview will be considered.
- No interim queries regarding the test/interview/selection will be entertained.
- Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
