The Department of Fisheries in Himachal Pradesh has signed an important agreement with the Central Freshwater Aquaculture Research in Bhubaneswar. This new partnership is set to help local fish farmers by providing them with advanced fish feed and high-quality seeds for Jayanti Rohu and improved Katla fish.

With this new technology and better fish seeds, fish in Himachal Pradesh can grow up to 20% faster. This means farmers could earn more money from their fish farms.

Director of Fisheries, Vivek Chandel, expressed optimism about the agreement, expecting it to significantly improve the income of fish farmers.

Recently, a workshop in Bilaspur also highlighted the benefits of these new fish varieties and the importance of good fish diets. Scientists shared valuable information about how these improvements can enhance fish growth and quality.

This collaboration marks a positive step towards boosting the state’s fish farming industry and supporting local farmers.
