The surge in exports can be attributed to the high demand from several key international markets. China, the USA, the European Union (EU), and Japan have emerged as the leading destinations for Indian Black Tiger shrimp. These regions have consistently shown a preference for the high quality and taste of Indian Black Tiger shrimp, making them top importers and contributing to the booming export figures.

MPEDA Chairman, Mr. K.S. Srinivas, expressed his enthusiasm about the positive trend, stating, “The significant increase in Black Tiger shrimp exports is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our shrimp farmers and exporters. We are committed to maintaining this momentum and ensuring that Indian Black Tiger shrimp continues to be a preferred choice in the global market.”

The report also highlighted the various initiatives taken by MPEDA to support and enhance the shrimp farming industry. These include providing technical assistance, ensuring quality control, and promoting sustainable farming practices. Such efforts have played a crucial role in boosting production and meeting the stringent quality standards required by international buyers.

The thriving export market not only benefits the economy but also supports the livelihoods of countless shrimp farmers across India. As the global demand for premium seafood continues to rise, the Indian Black Tiger shrimp industry is poised for sustained growth and further expansion.
