Jagan Mohan Reddy, is scheduled to enter into a joint venture for inaugurating the Fishing Harbour in the Juvvaladinne Village in Nellore District. The inauguration, which will take place on today (Tuesday) within the framework of the Blue Revolution Scheme, acts in conjunction with the central and local authorities to celebrate the joint efforts.

The Construction of Fishing Harbour was approved by the Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India, and this was started in March 2020 with its total investment of Rs 288.80 crore. Through four hardworking years, the effort aimed at developing the maritime area has finally reached its symbol of attainment. Provided to carry a fleet of 1250 fishing boats and a total catch of 41250 metric tonnes, the fishing port Juvvaladinne is setting the precedent for the fishers in the area. It is expected to help directly embrace about 6100 local fishermen, while opening up adjacent opportunities for multiple stakeholder organizations.

Primarily, the project will be associated with the development of supporting sub-sectors of fishery businesses. In this way, the economy of the region will expand and have an increase in the employment opportunities. This Harbour dedication marks the government’s determination to reinvigorate the fisheries sector through the development of the aquaculture industry. For the past ten years, a slew of initiatives has been supported and a total amounting to Rs 38,572 is expected to have been invested since 2015-16.

In conjunction, the building of 113 fishing harbours and fish landing centres in all the 14 coastal states and union territories, particularly 16 projects in Andhra Pradesh, shows a strand of commitment to infrastructural development and job creation. As the Fishing Harbour at Juvvaladinne opens its doors, it not only signifies progress in the maritime landscape but also heralds a new era of prosperity for the local community, paving the way for sustainable growth and development.
