Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology is inviting applications for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position under the Deep Ocean Mission, funded by the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India. This role focuses on utilizing machine learning models to predict warming and acidification in the Indian Ocean. Ideal for candidates with a background in ocean sciences, this two-year project offers a competitive fellowship.

Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Project: Deep Ocean Mission, Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), Government of India

Project Title: Application of Machine Learning Data Fusion Models for the Prediction of Warming and Acidification in the Indian Ocean Region

Essential Qualification:

  • First-class M.Tech. or M.Sc. in Physical Oceanography, Ocean Engineering, Ocean Science and Technology, Marine Sciences, Marine Biology, or related fields
  • NET or GATE qualification

Desirable Qualification:

  • Specialization in Marine Data and Ocean Observation, data processing, and visualization

Fellowship: ₹37,000 per month + 27% HRA
Duration: 2 years
