In a move to boost fish farming and enhance fish production in Puducherry, Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan has given the green light to increase the input subsidy provided to inland fishermen.
According to a press note from Raj Nivas, the Lieutenant Governor approved the proposal from the Department of Fisheries and Fishermen’s Welfare, raising the subsidy from ₹7,500 to ₹8,500 per acre under the Development of Freshwater Aquaculture scheme.
This initiative aims to incentivize fish farming activities and contribute to the overall growth of the fisheries sector in the region.
