Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) Announces Vacancies for Quality Control Trainees

The Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, is inviting applications for the position of Quality Control Trainees at its Regional and Sub-Regional Divisions. A total of 12 positions are available across various locations, including Bhimavaram, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Kochi, Kolkata, Mangalore, Mumbai, Porbandar, Tuticorin, Veraval, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam.

The Quality Control Trainees will be responsible for supporting office activities related to quality control, including assisting seafood processing and handling establishments in implementing HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) and monitoring quality. They will also conduct sanitation training programs, verify seafood processing establishments, and recommend corrective actions in quality control and traceability.

Qualifications for the position include a Master’s degree in Fisheries Science or Industrial Fisheries/Aquaculture from a recognized university. Specialization in Fish Processing Technology/Quality Assurance/Industrial Fisheries, along with proficiency in MS Office, is desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of HACCP implementation in seafood processing establishments.

Applicants should not exceed 28 years of age as of December 31, 2023. The training period will be one year, and selected candidates will receive a consolidated stipend of Rs. 18,000 per month.

Interested candidates can submit their applications online at www.mpeda.gov.in (Notification – Opportunities – Opening List) by the deadline of January 14, 2024. During the application process, candidates can choose their preferred training location, but once selected, the choice cannot be altered. Multiple location preferences are not accepted.

It’s important to note that individuals who are already trained or undergoing training in MPEDA are not eligible to apply for these positions. This opportunity provides a chance for qualified individuals in the field of Fisheries to contribute to quality control in the marine products sector.
