Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Secretary (DARE) and Director General (ICAR), graced the ICAR-Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research (IISR) in Lucknow, marking a significant milestone by laying the foundation stone for the Ikshu Hostel.
During the visit, Dr. Pathak engaged with students of the IARI Mega University Lucknow hub, stressing the importance of leveraging modern facilities at ICAR institutes to enhance skills and knowledge in line with the rising demand for quality education nationwide.
Highlighting ICAR’s efforts to elevate the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi as IARI Mega University, Dr. Pathak commended IISR and other ICAR institutes in Lucknow for their support towards facilitating quality education. He encouraged students, affirming that perseverance is crucial for success.
The occasion also saw the release of the latest issue of the Institute’s Rajbhasa Patrika ‘Ikshu’ and a Patent titled “A Tractor Operated Trash Mulcher-cum-Stubble Shaver Device for Sugarcane Ratoon Crop ”.
Dr. V B Patel, Dr. R Viswanathan, Dr. T. Damodaran, Dr. Uttam K Sarkar, Dr. A.K. Dubey, and Dr. A.K. Singh was among the dignitaries present, underscoring the collaborative efforts towards academic excellence.
Dr. Viswanathan provided an overview of IARI Lucknow Hub’s academic activities, while Dr. Singh conveyed gratitude on behalf of the institute.
