Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University (TNJFU) is hiring a Technical Assistant for a project on validating Tuna and Potential Fishing Zones (PFZs) advisories along the Tamil Nadu coast. The role, based at Thanjavur CeSA, offers Rs. 20,000 per month and requires candidates with a background in Marine Biology, Nautical Science, or Fisheries Science. Location: Thanjavur Centre for Sustainable Aquaculture (CeSA), Soorakottai
Vacancy: 1 Position
Remuneration: Rs. 20,000 per month (Consolidated)
Essential Qualifications:
- B.F.Sc./M.Sc. in Marine Biology or B.Sc. in Nautical Science
Desirable Qualifications:
- Physical fitness to work on-board boats/ships at sea
Job Responsibilities:
- Boat hiring, fish and water sample collection, fixation, and analysis
- Data collection, onboard fish sampling, validation experiments for Tuna and PFZs
- Assisting in training sessions, workshops, and other related office duties
Terms and Conditions:
- Initial appointment for one year, extendable yearly based on performance and project needs until March 2026 or until project completion
- The role is temporary and does not guarantee continuance or switching to another position
- Candidates must adhere to the rules of TNJFU for contractual engagement
