Union Minister Rupala Vows to Resolve Disputes Between Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu Fishers

Ongole: Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, Parshottam Rupala, participated in a Sagar Parikrama program at Pallepalem village in Kothapatnam mandal. During the interaction with fishermen, concerns were raised about the losses faced due to Tamil Nadu fishers operating near Andhra villages, impacting fish production.

The fishermen also requested specific measures such as allocating employment under the Sagar Mitra program to local youth, increasing the limit for Kisan Credit Cards, providing subsidies on diesel, and addressing livelihood assistance during cyclones and storms.

Minister Rupala assured the fishermen that he would take steps to resolve the disputes between Andhra and Tamil Nadu fishermen. Emphasizing the significance of the fishing industry in the country’s economic development, he pledged to conduct a meeting with officials from both states to promptly address the ongoing issues. The minister celebrated the New Year with the fishing community and distributed Kisan Credit Cards to support their needs.
