WALK-IN-INTERVIEW FOR JUNIOR CONSULTANT POSITION AT MPEDA

The Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) invites eligible candidates for a walk-in-interview to be held at MPEDA Head Office, Kochi, on 12.09.2024, from 10:00 A.M. onwards, for the position of Junior Consultant under the ICAR-NBFGR funded project, “National Surveillance Programme for Aquatic Animal Diseases” Phase II. The engagement is purely on a temporary contract basis for its Quality Control Laboratory in Kochi, Kerala. The contract period is for two (2) years.

Details of the Position:

Number of Positions: Two (2)

Essential Qualification:

  • Post Graduate degree in Microbiology, Fisheries Microbiology, Applied Microbiology, Marine Microbiology, Biotechnology, or Fisheries Biotechnology from a recognized University.
  • Candidates must possess 1st class or 60% marks or equivalent overall GPA.

Experience:

  • Minimum 1-year post-qualification experience in molecular biological analysis in fish & fishery products or experience in fish/shrimp disease diagnosis.

Emoluments:

  • ₹25,000 per month (consolidated).

Age Limit:

  • Candidates must be at least 21 years old and should not exceed 45 years of age as of 31.08.2024.
  • The upper age limit is relaxed for SC/ST/OBC categories as per rules.

Responsibilities:

  • Handling and analysis of samples (fish, shrimp, etc.) and technical documentation.
  • Field-level survey, interaction with fish farmers, collection, and processing of field samples, in addition to laboratory-based analysis.

Instructions:

  1. Candidates must bring all original documents along with a complete set of photocopies to the interview, including:
    • Recent passport-sized photo (not older than 03 months)
    • Filled copy of Application Form (Annexure -1)
    • Class 10 & 12 Mark sheets
    • Graduation and Post-Graduation Degree Certificates and Mark sheets/Transcripts
    • D. Marksheet & Degree Certificate (if applicable)
    • Experience Certificate(s)
    • No-Objection Certificate (if currently employed)
    • Caste/PH Certificate (if applicable)
    • Copy of Aadhar Card
    • Any other relevant documents.
  2. Reporting time for the interview is between 09:00 A.M. to 09:30 A.M.
  3. No candidate will be allowed entry after 09:30 A.M. under any circumstances.
  4. The positions are purely temporary, on a contractual basis, initially for two years, with the possibility of extension based on project continuation and performance.
  5. Addendum/Corrigendum, if any, will be uploaded on the MPEDA Website only.
  6. OBC candidates under the creamy layer are not entitled to OBC reservation. A valid OBC certificate with a non-creamy layer clause (in Central format) is required.
  7. All qualifications must be from a recognized University/Institution. MPEDA reserves the right to relax any qualifications/experience in exceptional cases.
  8. MPEDA reserves the right to not fill the position or cancel the advertisement without assigning any reason.
  9. Candidates must ensure the accuracy of the information provided. Any false information will result in rejection.
  • In case of any inadvertent mistake during the selection process, MPEDA reserves the right to modify/withdraw/cancel any communication made to the candidates.
  • No TA/DA will be provided for the interview.
  • The selection list will be published on the MPEDA Website (Notification – Opportunities Announcement).
  • All communications will be through the registered email ID.
  • Updates regarding the interview will be posted on MPEDA’s website.
  • Concealment of facts, incomplete documents, or canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification or termination.
