Walk in Interview for Junior Research Fellow Position at ICAR-CIFT Veraval Research Centre

A walk-in interview will be held on 23.07.2024 at 09:30 hrs at the Veraval Research Centre of CIFT, Matsya Bhavan, Bhidia, Veraval for the temporary post of Junior Research Fellow (on a contractual basis) for the project “Deployment and maintenance of Wave Rider Buoy off Veraval and Development of Jellyfish and Sardine advisories” funded by ESSO-Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (ESSO-INCOIS), Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt. of India.

The post is purely on a contractual basis up to 31st March 2026 and is based at Veraval, Gujarat. Eligible and desirous candidates fulfilling all the requirements should come for an interview with a duly filled bio-data, full details of academic qualification and experience(s), along with attested copies as well as the original copies of the relevant documents and a recent passport size photograph on the attached proforma for verification at the time of the interview on 23.07.2024.

• Emoluments: Rs. 31,000/- + HRA per month.
• Age: Minimum 21 years and maximum 35 for men and 40 years for women as of 23.07.2024.

Essential Qualification:

• Post-graduate degree in Fisheries Science (or) Marine Science (or) Environmental Science / (or) equivalent.

Desirable Qualification:

• Experience in marine research, analyzing ecological data using relevant software, and writing research papers.
• Previous research experience in ocean modelling and published research papers.
• Willingness to travel to different locations along the Gujarat coast for data collection and go onboard regularly in commercial/departmental fishing vessels.
• Occasional visits outside Gujarat as part of the project work.

Terms and Conditions:

1. Registration will begin 23.07.2024. at 09:00 a.m. and will close at 10:30 a.m.
2. Only Indian citizens are eligible for appearing in the walk-in interview.
3. Age limit: The minimum age will be 21 years and the maximum 35 for men and 40 years for women as of the date of the interview.
4. Age relaxation: 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates as per Govt. guidelines.
5. The candidates having essential qualifications prescribed in the advertisement will only be considered for the interview.
6. The JRF position is purely temporary. The selected candidates shall have no right/claim for regular appointment or absorption at ICAR-CIFT/ICAR at any point of time after the termination of the time-bound project.
7. Candidates are requested to ensure their eligibility regarding age, qualification, etc. before appearing for the interview.
8. Candidates are required to submit self-attested copies of all certificates such as proof for age, caste, education, CV along with experience in support of their claims regarding age, scheduled caste/scheduled tribe/OBC, etc. The original certificates shall be produced for verification before the interview.
9. Candidates should bring detailed bio-data affixing a recent passport size photograph and declaration duly signed in the application form annexed.

• No TA/DA will be paid to attend the interview.
• Concealing of facts or canvassing in any form shall lead to cancellation of candidature or termination.
• Non‐maintenance of discipline and failure to perform the assigned duties will make the candidate liable for termination during the appointment period as per ICAR rules.
• The selected candidates will be stationed at Veraval, Gujarat, and may have to conduct fieldwork involving frequent travel and surveys as and when required.
• Selected candidates will be required to produce all original documents at the time of joining for verification purposes.
• The selected candidate will be required to produce a medical certificate at the time of joining.
• The Director, ICAR-CIFT, Cochin, reserves the right to cancel/postpone the interview without assigning any reason thereof.
• The decision of the Director, ICAR-CIFT, Cochin, will be final and binding on all aspects.
• The Director also reserves the right to terminate the contract of the job as mentioned above, even before the completion period of the project for which no appeal thereof shall be made.
