YOUNG PROFESSIONAL-II (YP-II) POSITION AT ICAR-CIFE, MUMBAI

ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE), Mumbai invites applications for the position of Young Professional-II (YP-II) under the project “National Surveillance Programme for Aquatic Animal Diseases”, funded by the Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Dairying and Animal Husbandry, Government of India.

Position Details

  • Position: Young Professional-II (YP-II)
  • Number of Vacancies: 1
  • Place of Posting: ICAR-CIFE, Mumbai
  • Salary: ₹42,000/- per month (Consolidated)
  • Duration: Contractual appointment until 31st March 2025

 

Essential Qualifications

  • Master of Fisheries Science (M.F.Sc.) in any discipline of fisheries science with B.F.Sc.
    OR
  • M.Sc. in Zoology/Life Sciences/Marine Biology

Desirable Skills

  • Work experience in Fish Health/Fish Biotechnology
  • Strong technical knowledge in fish/shrimp sampling and PCR-based diagnostic techniques

Job Requirements

  • Conduct farm visits for fish/shrimp sample collection
  • Process and test samples using PCR for pathogen screening and disease diagnosis
  • Communicate results with farmers and prepare reports

Age Limit

  • Minimum: 21 years
  • Maximum: 45 years

  3. Shortlisted candidates will be notified for the interview scheduled on 02 January 2025, 11:00 AM onwards.

  • A link for the online interview will be provided to candidates opting for the virtual mode.

  • The position is purely temporary and contractual.
  • The selected candidate shall have no claim for a regular appointment under ICAR.
  • The decision of the Director, CIFE, will be final.
  • The Director, CIFE, reserves the right to cancel the interview/appointment without assigning any reason.
