ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE), Mumbai invites applications for the position of Young Professional-II (YP-II) under the project “National Surveillance Programme for Aquatic Animal Diseases”, funded by the Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Dairying and Animal Husbandry, Government of India.
Position Details
- Position: Young Professional-II (YP-II)

- Salary: ₹42,000/- per month (Consolidated)
- Duration: Contractual appointment until 31st March 2025
Essential Qualifications
- Master of Fisheries Science (M.F.Sc.) in any discipline of fisheries science with B.F.Sc.
OR - M.Sc. in Zoology/Life Sciences/Marine Biology
Desirable Skills
- Work experience in Fish Health/Fish Biotechnology
- Strong technical knowledge in fish/shrimp sampling and PCR-based diagnostic techniques
Job Requirements
- Conduct farm visits for fish/shrimp sample collection
- Process and test samples using PCR for pathogen screening and disease diagnosis
- Communicate results with farmers and prepare reports
Age Limit
- Minimum: 21 years
- Maximum: 45 years
