The Indian delegation, led by Dr. J.K. Jena, Deputy Director General (Fisheries), ICAR, participated in the Fish-Vet+Dialogue II: One Health and Biosecurity on 18-19 June 2024 at the FAO Headquarters in Rome, Italy. The delegation included Dr. Nilesh Pawar and Poonam Rani from the Department of Fisheries, Government of India, as well as Dr. Iddya Karunasagar and Dr. Indrani Karunasagar from NITTE University.

The Fish-Vet+Dialogue II focused on integrating One Health and biosecurity measures to enhance the global aquaculture sector. The event brought together experts and policymakers to discuss strategies for improving fish health, preventing disease outbreaks, and ensuring sustainable aquaculture practices.

The event provided a platform for the Indian delegation to engage with international experts, fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration. The insights gained from Fish-Vet+Dialogue II will be instrumental in shaping India’s future policies and practices in the aquaculture sector.
